This month we are very excited to announce that for the first time ever we have had a High School gain GOLD accreditation. In fact not just one, but TWO High Schools have reached this impressive level of accreditation! St Virgil’s Senior College and Huonville High School have both gained GOLD and we applaud them for their hard work and dedication to the provision of healthy food in their schools.
We know that high schools face additional barriers when it comes to achieving accreditation and often encounter resistance to change within the school community. So well done to both schools for their perseverance and commitment to their goals.

Both schools are reporting that the changes have been happily accepted by the students. St Virgil’s Senior has been accredited with a fabulous SILVER menu for some years, and the Canteen Manager Carol Hilyer supported by school management, recently decided it was time to make the jump and remove the last few RED items. Huonville High is a newly accredited school. The Canteen Manager, Lee Woolley, along with School Business Manager, Karen Russell and Principal Alison Grant have been involved in the program for some time, and working hard to get their menu to this high standard, and the other program requirements completed.
